David StewartDavid specialises in construction dispute resolution. Before studying law David had already established a successful construction practice. After experience with contractors and client organisations in the design and construction of infrastructure developments in UK, Egypt, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan David spent a decade leading a project management company in South East Asia before its acquisition by a European multinational. David then spent 5 years practising as an expert witness and arbitrator before reading law and subsequently qualifying as a barrister at the Inns of Court School of Law in London.

David's recent dispute resolution experience includes:

  • Contractor's representative in an LCIA arbitration, claims value USD 16m;
  • Representing a Turkish government ministry in multiple dispute adjudication cases arising from a 3 billion dollar infrastructure development;
  • Preparation of an adjudication case in London arising from underground rail works;
  • Lead advocate in ICC arbitration proceedings in Malaysia arising from a construction contract in Germany governed by the law of the Kingdom of Thailand;
  • Advice to a Thai public company fabricator concerning a contract to fabricate process plant equipment for shipping to and erection in Australia;
  • Advice to contractors in Bulgaria and Russia in connection with delay claims and the state's counter claims regarding defective work;
  • Independent commercial and technical reports for owner's boards, insurers and surety bond providers in Ireland, Hong Kong, Laos, Singapore and Thailand;

Steven LinaresSteven who is currently a Member of Parliament joined our Chambers in April. He was a Primary School Teacher from 1988 to 2000. Steven was the president of the Gibraltar Teachers Association which represented all teachers in Gibraltar from 1993 to 1996.

Recently Steven embarked on doing an LLB (Hon) and a BVC and was called to the bar in UK in November 2009 and in Gibraltar in April 2010.
